Snackety Snack time!!!

I have had so much fun planning and packing Isaiah's lunches this week. (yes I am aware I need to get out more.lol)

I have also brought an afternoon snack to him everyday this week to keep him satisfied until dinner. I pack one for Isaac as well and that keeps him occupied in the car until the school bell rings.

The first day of school I took Isaiah for a snack and an ICEE so I did not pack him one on that day.

I use their mini lunch boxes their Aunt Krissy bought them a few months ago.

 

The sandwich containers and a juice box fit perfectly inside. :)

 

Here are some of the snacks I've packed. (Basically I just try and get rid of some of the snacks we have around. The boys couldn't be happier with it though.:)I also just realized that 3 out of 4 snacks contain pretzels. Oops...oh well the boys love them and no sugar in them so we are all good.

Graham cracker with pb, raisins, banana slices, and frosted mini wheats

 



Juice box and trail mix. Pretzels, marshmellows, peanuts, cheerios, and raisins.
 

Mickey (place and bake) cookies, grapes, oranges and pretzels.

Number cookies, mini apple muffins,pretzel sticks and a banana.(see pic below)

 On the weekends when I know we are going to be out and I KNOW the boys will be saying they are hungry, I sometimes pack our little containers with goods/lunch for the boys. When are boys NOT hungry?? I have a feeling with three boys (plus one big boy) our grocery bill will never get any cheaper.

Homemade lunchable- whole wheat crackers, turkey rounds, cheese rounds, grapes, yogurt, oranges, and a cinnamon roll made in our waffle press. Bet you can't guess what food item went first!? lol

Popcorn chicken bites, "Hulk" fries(aka..broccoli fries), goldfish, cheese round, orange, and pretzel mix we call trash!

I have no idea why this photo will only upload upside down but anyways.... (this was for hubs lunch one day)...hot dog, pringles, grapes and choc mint, celery and broccoli, and a yogurt.

Roast beef, turkey and cheese kabobs, banana, animal crackers, watermelon, and jello jigglers.



Homemade pb& j uncrustable, cheese stick, jello roll, banana and grapes, nut mix and celery.  Yes this is a lot of food but they can munch on it throughout the time we are gone. :)

Isaiah's Lunchbox- Day 5

Well to sum up the week, Isaiah said it was AWESOME. He really loves school! Im so glad because it certainly makes it easier to send him off when I know he's going to have so much fun!

Homemade pizza rolls, goldfish crackers, salad with grated carrots(ranch in the small container), an apple cookie I made and a few m&ms. And koolaid to drink!:)
 

These pizza rolls were so easy to make. I just used the canned crescent rolls. Instead of seperating the triangles I made a long peice of bread by pinching the lines together. I added a very small amount of tomato sauce, lots of mini pepperonis, and shredded mozzerela cheese. Then I rolled it up(lengthwise) and sliced it into peices to make the rolls. I baked at 350 for about 14 minutes and VOILA! Isaiah LOVES them. They also make great after school snacks.

Isaiah's Lunchbox- Day 4:)

Today is officially....Thermos Thursday. :) On Thursdays I will try and pack a thermos with some warm goodness inside. Today we packed ABC spagettios.

ABC spagettios, crayola cheese stick, apple cinnamon muffin, strawberries, and the CUTEST colorful number cookies I found in the bakery at Walmart.:) Cute baked goods make me smile! He also took koolaid in his drink container today. I love this little container because its just enough for him at lunch and its also small enough for all the lunchboxes he carries. (I try to avoid the juice boxes just because its cheaper to send a drink in the thermos. I usually save the juice boxes for his afternoon snack)  His note today says.....Be a crayon in a box of markers. That he most definately is!;)

We have many thermos containers. This one I believe we found at Walmart years ago and just before school started I found this cute little crayola sandwich container. The two containers are a perfect pair!:)

Isaiah's Lunchbox- Day 3

One of Isaiah's new favorite snacks are homemade jello rolls. I found the recipe at joyofjello.com. They are SO easy to make and he thinks they are so fun because they are jiggly and rolled. :) He also really likes corndog muffins which you can find millions of variations all over the internet but I originally found mine at heavenlyhomemakers.com. I love Laura's blog. I have been following her blog since 2009. Anyways...this lunch was basically made up with some of Isaiah's favorite lunchtime foods.:)

Corndog muffins, homemade jello roll, crayon pretzels, a clementine, celery with pb, and apple jacks.

By the way, I would love to take credit for these cute little "crayons" but I actually was inspired over at gourmetmomonthego. Another site I love to follow.:) YES I am a blog hopper. I LOVE following other momma's blogs and getting great ideas.

My baby is a KINDERGARTNER!!!:)

 

Well my baby is officially a kindergartner. Monday morning, to say the least, was completely heartbreaking. As I walked my sweet boy in to his new school, I felt my heart swell and it felt like it wanted to explode. I was so excited for the fun I knew he was going to have but also so NOT ready to let go.
On the other hand, he was SO SO SO excited and couldn't wait to get there. He kept asking when his teacher was going to teach him to read. lol....If it only took a day to teach, I bet teachers would love that.
I dropped him off at his table with his classmates, kissed and hugged him goodbye and bolted for the door before I busted out in tears. I made it all the way to the car and just sat there in the parking lot and cried like a baby. lol....these milestones sure do hurt a momma's heart.
The entire 7 hours he was there at school I thought about what he was doing and if he was still with his class, what kind of things he was learning, what friends he was meeting, his fears, his excitement....all kinds of things ran through my head. I have to admit I counted down the time and I arrived 30 minutes early to pick him up. :)
Like I knew he would...He had an amazing first day. He talked about all the fun they had up until bedtime. That definitely helped heel my heart a little more. I loved hearing about his day and I look forward to hearing about it every day when I pick him up. Here are a few pics from his first day as a kindergartner!!! I am so incredibly proud of my little guy! He is an amazing blessing!

Isaiah's lunchbox- DAY 2:)

Today we were still on the "back to school" theme...ok so all week we are on that theme.lol


Pencil sandwich (turkey and american cheese), carrots and ranch dip, strawberries, apple jacks, and white chocolate covered pretzels that I made to look like apples. I just dipped them and then sprinkled with red sprinkles and added a green "stem" candy.

Isaiah's Lunchbox- First Day of School

My big boy started kindergarten today(those pics to come very soon). I am so sad so I decided to take up a new hobby.lol...sort of. I am making a goal to make him a special lunch made with love EVERY day this year. I have a new interest in bento lunches so I will hopefully try to incorporate some of those fun ideas as well.

Here is his very first lunch!!!




Mini "apple" pb and grape jelly sandwiches, apple cubes and kiwi chunks, apple straws, mini babybel cheese made into an apple, a twinkie school bus(hopefully my artist skills don't scare you off.lol) and a little note from mom with a gummy worm eating through the apple.:)

Ok Ok ...so Im not picaso but the point being when Isaiah opens his lunch he will be very excited and hopefully will remember I love him even when he's at school!

Stay tuned for ALOT more lunch ideas. Some will be elaborate while others will just be what the big school boy has requested. I can't wait to get started on tomorrows lunch!:)

You are my Sunshine

It's been a little rainy over the past week. We decided we'd try bringing in a little sunshine with these cute little sunshine cupcakes. They were so simple to make. We just used a box cake and frosting that was already made that we colored yellow. Then we added candy corn for the sun rays and a cute little smiley face. :) No they are not Cake Boss worthy but what made these even more special are the memories I made with my little boys!

Summer Fun List~ Eat outside for the entire day

We decided yesterday morning we were going to take advantage of our 99 degree weather and eat all our meals outside all day! Hey at least it wasn't 105.:) We can do this 90's thing. It wasn't that hot before lunch though. I can't find my pictures of dinner though...:( I took them on my cell phone and since my kiddos always play games on it maybe they were accidently erased. Oh well, I do have pics of the other meals.

We started with our breakfast outside....ok so since it was last minute I was trying to plan our picnic lunch inside. Resulting in CEREAL for breakfast. The boys actually requested this because they just got new Spiderman cereal. :)

So happy to eat their cereal outside. It's so funny with kids...change up their schedule just a little bit and it's the best day ever for them!

Then shortly after we headed off to one of our favorite parks. My mom met us there to enjoy the picnic with us. She came equipped with LOTS of fresh fruits and veggies. The boys and our sweet girl (our friend who stays with us each week) gobbled it right up!

Yes I just had to post a pic of my lunch. It was that good! (And for the record...I normally don't drink sodas but this was calling my name at the store last night.lol...and I only drank half) In case you cared!:)

Christmas In July Party~

Yes your read it right, we got together with my sister and her kids and my mom(Nana) to throw a Christmas in July party. It turned out great and the kids were so pumped ALL day!
 JUST A WARNING...this post has SOOO many pictures. We had a busy day and I just couldn't pass up posting all the cute pics. lol...sorry!
We started our fun out with a Christmas themed lunch.

Snowman and Santa sandwiches, fruit tree, snowman donuts, and chips.

Lots of cheesy ooey goodness...a chicken wreath. Mainly for the adults.:)

After lunch we did a little gift exchange. The previous day, each of the kids got to go to the dollar tree and buy a gift for the name they drew. Mine had so much fun picking something out, hard part was only picking one item.

Ian got cute little bowls with a baby spoon to carry his baby food in.

Then we set the kiddos up to watch Flinstone's Christmas Carol. They all snuggled up and pretended it wasn't 103 degrees outside.;)

During the movie the kids were served Christmas "Trash". (our homemade christmas mix we make every year.)

Grinch Punch! I found this recipe online at tasteofhome.com. It was delicious. Instead of vanilla ice cream we used lime sherbet.

After the movie we moved on the next event...REINDEER GAMES. We needed something to get all their wiggles out.

First up....THE REINDEER SCOOT.

Each one wore a rudolph nose and were supposed to race one another down to the finish line pushing a christmas ornament, using ONLY their nose. It seemed like such a great idea but most of thier cute little noses were much too small to keep the rudolph nose on. So they just ended up pushing the ornament without the red nose on and using their own.:)

 Next game.... Minute to Win It- Snowball Toss. Each kiddo were to throw as many snowballs through the wreath they could within one minute. My boys loved this one. Anytime they are allowed to chunk something inside a house they are all for! We used oversized marshmellows for our snowballs.

Isaiah kept wanting to eat the "snowball" instead of throwing them.:)

Max was our winner of this one with 29 snowballs through the wreath. All those all star games with baseball must of given him an unfare advantage. lol

My little Isaac LOVED this game. It surprised me at how well he caught on and wanted to partcipate in all the games.

Our NEXT big event was a game called...THE NUTSTACKER. ;) Get it? Nutcracker...Nutstacker? Just in case you didn't get it. ;) Again they each had one minute to get all the nuts stacked using only one hand. They all did surprisingly great with the stacking.

This game was intense. lol

Our last game was...Minute to Win It- STACK THE CHRISTMAS TREE.

The older two insisted on a tie breaker, so this is the Christmas playoffs.lol
