*Happy St. Patricks Day*

Today we celebrated St Patty's Day with our wee little ones.;) We have had a morning full of activities. We have a  friend of ours visiting for the day so I planned to keep them busy. We colored leprechaun papers, made marble paintings of clovers, and made playdough. We colored the playdough green and sprinkled gold glitter in it. After our activities, the kids ate their "all green" lunch and then we headed outside to hunt for clovers. The weather here in Texas is amazing today! Tonight with dinner we plan on enjoying our St. Patrick's Day cake my awesome grandmother made for us. Its her homemade pound cake recipe and she colored the inside of the cake to make green swirls, sprinkled powdered sugar on top and then dusted with green sugar crystals.  Its beautiful (and delicious)...thank you Nanie!!:)
St. Patricks Day playdough! The coins were a hit. They used them to make prints on the playdough and they also made a pot for all their "gold".

Isaiah making gold prints and Brooklyn making the rainbow. Great team work!:)

Isaiah marble painting his clover!

Brooklyn marble painting!

St Pattys Day lunch- cucumbers, apples, green yogurt, pickle, kiwi, celery, green ranch for their veggies, and green chocolate coins the little leprechaun left for them.

The "leprechaun fizz"!(or sprite and food coloring)

Of course we had to throw in Isaiah's fav cereal...Lucky Charms.

Isaac hunting for clovers.
My sleepy baby has had enough festivities today!:)

*TOTSCHOOL* Letter A and B

Since both the letter A and B were done so long ago, we don't have many pics to show for. These are some I found from those letters. For A week we made many apple crafts. We ate alphabet soup to start our "letter" journey. We ended up serving our Aunt Shelda Apple pie! Some things we did for A week were:

-practiced writing our A's
-played Ants in my Pants game
-read about Abraham's faith(Hebrews 11:8-9)
-made angel suckers- we put Kleenex over suckers and made halos for each!
-painted with apples
-made paper airplanes and had a contest to see which flew the furthest! (daddy and Isaiah made the best airplane)
-made our alphabet animal

For B week we did many baseball acitivites. It was perfect timing of doing B week because the Rangers were still in season. We ended our week with taking Isaiah to a Rangers game. At the time Isaac was super little and it was super HOT so we left him with my sister and took off to enjoy our night at the ball game. These were precious memories that we plan on repeating with the seasons to come! Some of our B week activites were:
-read about Jesus healing the Blind man(John 9)
-practiced writing letter B
-learned how to make a bed (again another favorite of mommys)
-played balloon volleyball
-built a tower with blocks (or twenty towers with blocks and of course bulldozed them down)
-visited the Beach (ok...so it was a lake but at least it had a sandy "beach" :)
-Isaiah served Brownies to Uncle Brian this week

My oldest niece and nephew helped with this pie! What they didn't know was they weren't going to be able to eat it afterward!!haha....that's so mean isn't it?
That was one HUGE amount of sugar refreshment this boy had!;)
Future Ranger?!? I think so!!:)

*TotSchool* Letter L Week

We learned about the letter L in the Fall. We did many activities that had to do with leaves. The first day we read "We're Going On A Leaf Hunt" by Steve Metzger. We took our lunch to a local park that has many many trees and we went on our own leaf hunt collecting all sorts of leaves.  I knew that later in the week we would be using them to complete some of the projects I had planned. I cannot believe that I did not get any pics of the hunt because Isaiah looked so cute in his little backpack and he was so pumped about the leaf hunt. :( We also read "Many Luscious Lollipops" by Ruth Heller. Of course we ate many lollipops during reading time!!!
Some other activities we did were:
Played leapfrog
Limbo and London bridges
Practiced Lacing
Made fruit loop necklaces
Read The Grouchy Ladybug
Learned how to do the Laundry :) Mommy liked this one!
Traced and Cut lines
Practiced writing our L's
Played with legos
Made fresh Lemonade
And the list goes on and on... Here are some other things that we actually got pictures of....

L is for Lion alphabet animal

Isaiah raking leaves!

Isaac was not too crazy about the leaves!:)

We had my niece Milly over this day! Here they are having a ball in the leaves! What fun memories!

Leaf spray painting! What a mess...a fun mess...but WOW!:)
This is our leaf pile snacks we made. We used karo syrup, peanut butter and cornflakes. They were really good.

This day we read a book about log cabins and then Isaiah made a log cabin using pretzel sticks and cereal for the roof!

For the letter L we decided we would serve Lifesavers to our friend Lyndsey. (this was much after our letter L week but hey what can I say...we got busy during all the holidays) :)

*TOTSCHOOL* Letter C is for Christmas

The letter C week really turned into two weeks. We learned about the letter C during Christmas time and there was so many activities I had planned that it took way longer than expected. We made a lot of crafts and ALOT of food.:) We delivered our famous Christmas cookies to friends and family along with other baked goodies. We also make playdough with different themes we learn about. For Christmas we made peppermint scented playdough that was white with red glitter. Each day I would set out Christmas cookie cutters and a ball of the playdough for Isaiah.  Unfortunately I was not able to take pics of everything we did. After reviewing my pictures, I did manage to get quite a few. Here are some of activities we were able to document.:)
C is for Crab alphabet animal!

We made a Cranberry ice wreath for our bird friends. Isaiah put cranberries and bird seed into the cake pan and I placed a cup with rocks in the middle so we would be able to maintain our hole where we were going to hang the wreath once frozen. It took a few hours to freeze and then it was ready to hang. Isaiah kept trying to hold it and was saying it was freezing his hands. It lasted in our yard a couple of days before it melted! It was a definite success and plan to do it again next winter.
We made holiday Crystals. This was a fun experiment for Isaiah. After we grew the crystals in the colored water we used an experimental tube to mix the colors and make "new" colored crystals. This project took a couple of days because we had to grow the crystals overnight.  Another success!:)

A Christmas Maze!

Isaiah had a friend over this day! They finger painted Christmas trees!

I had previously cut out different size strips along with the star and tree trunk the day before this project. Isaiah had to put them in order from smallest to largest to form his tree. It turned out pretty cute!

Our town has a Santa mailbox for kids to drop their Christmas letters off to Santa in the beginning of December. A few weeks later they will receive a special letter back. Here Isaiah is with his letter he received back. All I can say is that this letter made this little boy SOOO happy this day!
Manger scene sorting...People and Animals. This activity required Isaiah to practice his cutting skills, gluing and of course sorting.

We also made chalk with chalk dust and molds that we had. We even made Santa chalk.

Here Isaiah is making his paper Christmas Cookies. He cut them out then decorated them with glitter and glue.

We made a pretend tray for his paper cookies and he served them to each of us!
Here is Isaiah's Christmas countdown chain! We cut off a chain everyday!

This was our baking day! Along with our family tradition cookies(not pictured), we made sugar cookies to decorate. My neices and nephews came over this day to bake our goodies with us.

We made cinnamon struesal bread to go with our C theme.:) It smelled so good!
At the drive thru park of lights.
Of course we had to take our traditional trip to a local drive thru park of lights. C week would not have been complete without these beautiful displays of Christmas light.:)
