*Everyday Life Skills*

Throughout the week I try and plan activities or just simple chores for Isaiah to do where it requires him to learn about everyday life skills. This week we decided we would surprise daddy with his favorite cake or dinner. So I layed out all the ingredients and we got to work.

This has to be Isaiah's favorite thing of all....cracking eggs. I must say he's pretty good too!:)

All the kiddos in on the mixing...they were all praying for a beater. Such temptations!!!

And very proud of their work. Didn't have enough time to take all the pics I wanted. Little hands sure do work fast!
Baking a cake is such a great life skill to practice with little ones. They practiced pouring, cracking eggs, measuring, mixing with a spoon and electric mixer, and also the most important of all...PATIENCE!;)

Keeping Busy...

Along with our school stuff we do each week Isaiah has been staying busy with fun things in between school time. We used to call these TOT trays but now we have graduated up to Workboxes. Every week, inside his workboxes, I will put different things out to feed his imagination. This week he played ALOT with bristle blocks...
Proud of his art work!

He said these were Eva from the movie Wall-E!

A dog...:)

And the cutest of cute...Wall-E!

He had a lot of fun playing with Tinker Toys also...hes REALLY into building these days.

Nana had come to visit one day and she and Isaiah practiced his memory game...They also played "What's missing?" She would place about seven cards out and have Isaiah name each one and then have him close his eyes...when he would open them he would have to tell what card was missing. He was amazing to me at how quick he could remember them.

^^^Our Camping (mini) Unit^^^

This past weekend my niece and nephew were staying with us and I decided we would have a little "theme" weekend to add some fun to our night. I have a Camping unit I found on Totally Tots blog page that I decided to go with for our theme.  (I love love love all their amazing units) We started our night off with our fun activities and ended with a movie...RIO! I know the movie had nothing to do with camping but we had just bought it so they were all anxious to watch it. :)

Sorting food items from camping gear!

Tracing the Campers paths to their tents.

S is for SMORES!

The kids enjoying their microwave smores...they were actually really GOOD!

Comparing their gooey messes!lol

Isaac and Isaiah earlier in the day "camping" out in their tent.

Movie Time...Rio was such a cute movie!

Just had to post these...They played with Mr. Potato heads and had so much fun making Isaac into one..lol!

Love them to pieces!!!

Baby Love Bug #3!!!

We found out in July that we are expecting our third little bambino and we could not be happier! We can't wait to add this sweet addition to our little familia! My due date is in March 2012 and I am already counting down the days.:) I am not a very patient person when it comes to waiting on things like this. And YES we are most definitely finding out the sex! There is NO way I would be able to patiently wait until March to know if I am destined for three boys or two boys and one girl. :) Anyways just wanted to share the good news and I will keep you updated!!! Thanks for reading!

Ice Ice Baby!!!

This summer has been the hottest summer I can remember...temps have been reaching about 110 every day! I have been trying to think of ways we can get outside but stay cool at the same time. I came across this on a blog I follow and decided it would work great with our letter I theme and also be a cool (literally) activity to do with the kids! We had a little friend visiting with us this day which made it that much more fun! Sadly some of our pics got erased...:( Hate when that happens but here are some that I still have!

Isaiah had a great time finding small objects to freeze into his ice block. We found things like plastic bugs, balls, army men, darth vader (lol), rubber fish, and lots of other small creatures.

Isaiah tested different "techniques" to find something that might melt the ice. He used salt, sugar, dirt, water and many tools to break it apart!

Love this picture of Isaac's little hand holding the plastic screwdriver digging right in to help his Bubba!:)

What a fun activity! Thank you countingcoconuts blog for giving us such great ideas!!!

Summer break OVER...School begins again with LETTER I:)

So we took a little break from official schooling throughout the summer but now we are back and pumped! We started our schooling two weeks ago and we are having a blast. I decided to homeschool Isaiah for PreK! We are still doing our " Learning our Letters, Learning to Serve" curriculum but now I have added SO much more exciting things. I plan to have Isaiah know everything he will learn in kindergarten...before he starts kindergarten.
Here are some of the things we have worked on this week...We started our "school year" with the Letter I.

Letter I is for Iguana alphabet animal!

Working on his Letter I animal.

We played some of our games that go with our letter I theme...Ice Cream Stack attack, Dont break the Ice, Imitate Imitate(not pictured), I spy(not pictured)

This is a picture of our Ice Block we made...more details on this in a post to come...STAY TUNED...

Serving Others: I made ICE pops for Isaiah and Isaac(and their cousins)...my neice and nephew were here this night to enjoy them with us!

Tranfering Ice cream scoops (aka..pom poms) from one dish to the other using the scoop!

This is our Ice cream unit...(I found this over at 2teachingmommies blog) I'm loving all their great ideas!

The set included many many many activities but I chose only a few...Ice Cream letter match, Ice cream tracing, sizing cones, matching flavors, Ice cream Counting clip cards, and a paper ice cream craft!

Isaiahs paper ice cream craft...I think it turned out pretty cute!

(Along with our theme we plan each week we also do our morning routine of calender time and we discuss the weather! We have a chart we change with the temp and we dress our weather bear accordingly. We review our ABCs daily and practice counting on our calendar. The days of the week are also part of our morning activities. Each morning I add more things to our daily routine!)
