We have still been staying busy doing our Halloween activities...this is the last week...its almost here!!!YAY!!!

Haunted House puzzle! I am going to start cutting the numbers off of these because Isaiah is just getting to good at them. Maybe that will challenge him a little more.

Counting Candy Corn. We also worked on addition and subtraction with this game. When he would draw the next card we would discuss is he would need to add or subtract more candy corn for the basket.



This was another sorting activity but this time he had to write Leaves and Apples on each side, then glue the peices to the correct column.



Bat Roll and Color- Roll the die and color that many circles in on the bat.

 

I finally caught Isaac in a picture with the straw drop. He loves filling the container then emptying over and over.:)

Bible Devotion- Trash for Treats

This week we have talked a lot about God's grace. We talked about how God gives us things even when we don't deserve them. The way I showed Isaiah in an example was using trash. He would give me a piece of trash and I would give him a piece of candy. Even though he was doing nothing for me I was still blessing him with something he loves. We also talked about the verse Ephesians 2:8. For it is by grace that you have been saved!

Preschool~ Halloween activities

Here is some more of our Halloween activities we have been having fun with. We have a lot more up our sleeve for this week so stay tuned!;)

Isaiah had to count the Halloween items in each square and stamp the correct number underneath each one.

Simple sorting activity using an Autumn mix bag of candy corn.



Transfering- Both boys have enjoyed this. They are simply to use the spoon to transfer the eyeballs from the container to the tray. We also used these eyeballs and this spoon to make a race game sort of like the egg run. We would start at one end of the room and race to the other making sure not to drop the eyeballs.



Tracing- He had to trace the trick or treaters to the Haunted house. As the pages went on the harder the lines were to follow.



We learned about similes by going on a Halloween scavenger hunt around the house. All of the clues I used had to do with Halloween. For example find something as furry as a black cat. OR find something as green as a goblin.



We have also been doing a lot of puzzles. Isaac really enjoys these type of four peice puzzles.



Happy Birthday Isaiah!!!

Isaiah- October 2006

Well today was bittersweet. Our oldest son turned 5 today! I can remember October 23, 2006 like it was yesterday! My sweet little boy entered this world at 6:10 pm and it was such an amazing feeling that only a mother can explain. I remember staying up late into the night...about 3 am to be exact and just fighting to stay awake so I could stare at him a little longer. My husband had already fallen asleep long before and I just couldn't bare to close my eyes and miss a second of this new miracle God had blessed me with. It was almost like an amazing dream that I didn't want to disturb so I never wanted to change that undescribable moment. It was Fall and the weather was perfect. EVERYTHING about that day was amazing and will forever be etched into my memory! Every day since I have enjoyed waking up to his amazing smile and sweet face. He fills my heart with so much love. Isaiah is full of life and character. He makes me laugh on a daily basis. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for this little man. Happy Birthday my sweet Isaiah! You are such a blessing. Thank you for making my life a wonderful mystery everyday! I love you to the moon and back!!! Mommy's and Daddy's lives are forever changed and forever touched!

After his party we took Isaiah to Main Event to play games and Laser tag...he has been waiting a LONG time to play laser tag with his daddy. He's never been tall enough now.

After a fun filled day on Saturday Isaiah woke up this morning..his actual bday.. with his choice in meals all days. To start the day off he chose blueberry muffins.;)



My boys before church! Did I mention what an amazing big brother Isaiah is as well. I pray he will always be his younger brothers protector and best friend.





A Mini Field Trip/ Playdate to the Farm

Yesterday we had a great playdate with some wonderful friends. I am a member of our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group where we live and occasionally throughout the month we will meet for playdates. Yesterday we met at a small farm where we were able to take our first Fall hayride of the season. The boys had a blast. We also got to feed cows which all the kids LOVED!

The "group". All the kiddos were bundled up because thankfully it is actually getting cold here in Texas! Finally its feeling a little bit like Fall!:)

Preschool~ Halloween Fun

Last week we stayed pretty busy with our Fall fun. Here are a few of the things we have been doing. 

This is usually what our shelf will look like. We always have our weather bear and weather chart. I have also been doing a bible devotion once a week. I will post about that very soon. In the tray at the top I will put papers, puzzles and crafts I want to accomplish with Isaiah and Isaac that day. On the cubbies underneath I try and put activities that do not need much of my explanation and Isaiah or Isaac can work on them alone. This day I had layed out  Halloween pencils to practice sharpening in the first cubby and cutting pumpkins from strips in the second. The third had a magnetic pumpkin the boys could make silly faces on using the magnetic peices,  and the fourth cubby had a straw drop into a pumpkin tin I had made. The last cubby always holds Isaiah's idea folder and his night work folder.



Life Skill ~ sharpening pencils

Straw drop- Isaiah has mastered this activity but he still enjoyed doing it time after time. :) Isaac loved it also. He had a little bit more of a challenge but still had a lot of fun. Sorry no picture of Isaac.:(



The pumpkin straw drop- I took a pringle can and covered it with construction paper to make a jackolatern. I cut holes in the lid and added black and orange straws. Very easy to make and you would be surprised how long little ones will sit and drop the straws over and over again.
