Wordless Wednesday

Ok, so I couldn't refrain from no words..lol..Isaiah said he was doing his toes like his mommy does when she paints hers. It was really cute and I might add pretty creative. :)

* TOTSCHOOl* Tot trays and other fun Activities

Tot trays are what we call activities that I set out each week for Isaiah to do on his learning alone time. I switch up the activities every week. We have ordered new colorful trays but these activities Isaiah is working with our one little lonesome tray that we do have. :) Soon I will start placing at least six trays out each week with activities he will work on several times throughout the week. For now I just switch them every other day since we just have the one tray.

Here Isaiah is sorting pom poms into the same colored bowls.

This simple activity is easy to create and you can actually do it with any type of bottles or containers. Isaiah is placing straws into the container through the small hole on top of the sports bottle. Then when he is done, he is to unscrew the lid, dump them and do it again. You would be surprised how much he loves this activity. I switch it up with parmesan bottles and spaghetti noodles or gum containers and toothpicks. The possibilities are endless.:)

Here are a few of our fun activities we tend to bring out often. Most of the time our toys are used in many different ways and we always try to be creative to make them learning experiences. Our nesting blocks come out a lot. This day Isaiah was using them as parking garages for his cars. Isaac was just interested in pulling them out..lol.

Our shape sorters are awesome learning tools too. We have many different kinds that I find at resale shops and consignment sales. Isaac loves placing things in and pulling them out of containers of any kind.

Isaiah's Busy Box

I have been looking for activities for Isaiah to do when I am needing him to stay busy so I am able to get things done around the house. I stumbled across a blog recently that gave me this great idea to make him a kit called a Busy Box! I filled two boxes with lots of miscellaneous items that I knew would spark interest in my little Isaiah and keep him busy without needing a lot of help from me to complete these activities. It turned out to be a complete success and I plan on buying more fun crafts and small games/puzzles to fill his boxes with in which I will be able to rotate in and out with the other activities.

I bought the plastic boxes at the dollar store for 3.00 and printed a label for Isaiah! I keep these boxes out of reach and they are only allowed down for "special busy box time". :)

Some things I added in the first box were:  a veiw finder and lots of slides, a leapfrog trace and draw, colored shapes with the color cards for sorting, a wooden cake with a spatula, books, stik its-from the Target dollar isle(huge hit with Isaiah), small notebook with markers, and a new Star Wars coloring book with twistable crayons.

In the second box he had: a foam block with golf tees and a hammer to practice coordination, a felt poster with markers, books, ABC cards, a magic painting book with paintbrushes, a puzzle, bendaroos (another good investment), an ISpy bean bag, index cards with stickers.

First Official " Family Movie Night!"- 101 Dalmatians

101 Dalmatians Family Movie Night!

Tonight was our first Family Movie Night. A blog that I recently started following gave me this idea of doing themed dinner and a movie. I had so much fun planning it and definitely have more movie nights in the future works for us. Thank you so much Jamie for making us these super cute tickets and for the inspiration! We made amazing memories tonight with our kiddos that I hope they will cherish for life! :)

Isaiah's cute little dalmatian craft he made while I prepared dinner!

Our dinner...roasted dalmatian dogs, grass salad and well chips and fruit.lol. I really ran out of time....note to self...prepare everything way ahead of time next family night. My boys (even the oldest adult boy) are ready to eat at five and tonight it was well after that when we finally sat down. lol.

Isaiah helped me decorate..along with his dalmatian craft puppet he also made the picture hanging by the window by using his fingerprints (and black ink) and stamping spots for the dalmatian.

Our dessert...cookies and cream ice cream. We made cute little puppies with oreos, m &ms, and marshmallows!

Isaiah insisted on decorating his all alone.haha....I love four year olds "artwork"!

My boys ready to start the show!! Isaiah has worn this hat all day..he has it on here after he took his bath and put his pajamas on. He even went to sleep holding it. lol

*TOTSCHOOL* R is for Rainbows

      We decided to do our letter R week during the Spring so we could study rainbows. Everything in our house has been so cheerful and colorful. We love rainbow week. In addition to our rainbow festivities we also went to see Rio at the theaters. What a cute movie. I definitely recommend watching it if you haven't already.

Our Imagination Bin was a HUGE hit this week. All the boys had many great ideas on how to play with the items. I was asked to get this down many different times!

Here the boys said the frogs were jumping on their lily pads across the rainbow pond. They were so cute!

The rainbow fruit tray I served with the boys lunch! Kiwi, pineapple, grapes, oranges and apples.

On this day we did our letter R is for Rainbow activity sheet. Isaiah and Caden(a little friend staying with us for the week) traced their letter R's and also colored the rainbow.

    These were our fruit loop rainbows we made. The older boys (Isaiah and Caden) sorted out the different colors then placed them in a row on their rainbow pattern. With the younger boys, I just talked about all the different colors. Mainly, they just enjoyed eating them. :) 

 

We also did a little experiment a friend of mine told me about. We used milk, dish soap and food coloring to make a rainbow. It turned out pretty but not quite the way it should have. She told me next time I need to keep turning the pan to make a better arch to form the rainbow. So we shall try try again!!:)Either way the boys were amazed.
