On a totally different side note, Ian has started to scoot. I LOVE his little inchworm scoot he does. Its about to get crazy over here in the Vallejo casa with two munchkins(3 when Isaiah is home from school) on the loose! And to be honest...I can't wait. Its gonna be fun!!!:)

Turkey wrapped around a mozzerela cheese stick, dried fruit crisps, mini pretzels, mini granola bar, mini chocolate chip cookies. And a mini Sunkist to drink.(Isaiah's Nana bought him some small drinks to carry in his lunch box...of course he thinks they are awesome)

TOTSCHOOL- LETTER J

Over the summer we worked more on our letters...and YES I am just now posting about it. lol. We have been super busy and I want to add, with Isaiah starting school it seems like that is all my mind can concentrate on right now. :)
We have started "homeschooling" back up so hopefully I can find time to squeeze some of our activities onto our blog. Lately it seems I only have time to blog quickly about lunch and then I am off again.
Back in July we started our Letter J! We did alot of things that started with the letter J.
Some other things that weren't pictured were:

we learned how to do jumping jacks
we read Jack in the Beanstalk
Celebrated 4th of July with fireworks
told jokes
learned how to jump rope
Isaiah did many worksheets from some of our workbooks that practiced writing the letter J
read our Moncure book- letter J
We also went to the park and picked up "junk" to throw away. I really wish I would have taken pics of this because Isaiah was thrilled for this activity.
played barrel of monkeys(you know for jungle animals. :) )
Talked about feeling of jealousy and joy

Letter J is for Jaguar. (lol...kind of looks like a giraffe but the boys were happy with it)

We made Jungle snakes!

The boys coloring their snakes.

Jello Jigglers- Sorry the picture is turned on its side...it wouldn't download any other way.

My little man helping out in the kitchen making jello jigglers.

The boys giving Jelly Belly's to Uncle Jason!

We did LOTS of jigsaws.

Jungle Animal counting

Sorting the jungle animal crackers

We also worked on addition and subtraction.

We had alot of fun playing with our playdoh mats. These were both jungle themed!

Isaiah practicing his snakes.

Isaiah said Ian was Alfalfa. lol

We practiced forming the letter J with playdoh. Then Isaiah pressed "jewels" into the dough.

Playing Jacks. This is definitely gonna take more practice. lol

It pretty much turned into a game of trading jacks.:)

Isaiah's Lunchbox- Day 11

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! Isaiah came home so excited Friday afternoon that his teacher had read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to them at school. This week they are learning about letters and are even going on a treasure hunt for the lost ones. So of course we had to go with the theme of the week when creating this lunch.:)

He should be surprised today because he didn't get to peak at this one.

A coconut tree(made with flat out bread and spinach tortilla- pb is inside), a few "coconuts"(almonds), fruit roll up cut out letters of his name, apple pieces cut with our mini abc cutters, the rest of the fruit roll up, yogurt, ABC cheese its, and the cutest little panda (chocolate filled) cookies. And koolaid to drink! :)

Meet you at the top of the coconut tree......... (read the book and you'll understand);)

Isaiah's Lunchbox~ Day 10

Isaiah has been begging me to make a Star Wars lunch for him, so today I'm hoping he will be surprised when he opens his lunchbox. This is one of many I have planned for him. Yoda was the inspiration today!:)
"Yoda" quesadilla, popcorn for filler, apple chunks, olives with our new star wars picks,
and a princess Leia bun (aka...a sweet roll)! :) And grape koolaid for the drink.
The yoda quesadilla was made using a spinach tortilla and provolone cheese for the eyes and mouth. I used a black food marker for the pupils. I made sure to wait to add the provolone features until after the quesadilla cooled down a bit.

I hope my little man likes his first Star Wars lunch. I can't wait to make some more. The possibilities are endless.
Have a wonderful Monday!!!

Isaiah's Lunchbox- Day 9 (or lack of lunchbox)

Today at Isaiah's school they invited all the grandparents to come and eat with the kids as a special event for Grandparent's day. My mom went to eat with him at his school so unfortunately I did not make him a lunch today. Instead his Nana surprised him with a personal pan pizza from Subway, a rootbeer, and a fall rice krispy treat.
Needless to say, Isaiah had a great lunch. He LOVED that his Nana got to spend that time with just him. They even had their picture made.
Being the jokester my son thinks he is( just like his daddy).....here's how their picture turned out.....
Hmmmm.... nice Isaiah! I'll never completely figure this boy thing out. lol

Isaiah's Lunchbox~ Day 7

Middle of the week already...man this week is absolutely flying by. Today's lunch was basically a mix of some of Isaiah's favorite things.:) Isaiah requested another boiled egg in his lunch today. Of course I didn't mind because it gave me an excuse to use our new egg mold. I LOVE these things. You boil the egg, place it into the egg mold and leave for about 30 minutes. He is going to be thrilled to see his car shaped egg today at lunch.

Turkey/pickle/cheese kabobs(held together with pretzel sticks), car shaped boiled egg, ranch flavored veggie sticks, mini chocolate chip granola bar, green grapes, and white cheddar popcorn.

Happy Wednesday!:) Church activities for the kiddos start tonight, so Isaiah is going to be extremely tired at bedtime.

AND btw...stay tuned for posts about some of our homeschooling fun we have been having over here. Who says you can't homeschool AND public school??:)

***I'd love to read your comments below....I'm starting to feel a little lonely here.;)

Isaiah's Lunchbox~ Day 6

We are off to the start of week 2 of Kindergarten. Isaiah was very sleepy today after our three day weekend and really just wanted to stay home. :( What a way to break my heart. lol. Hopefully this lunch will bring some joy to his day! He's gonna think it's so funny I made the birds out of cheese and an egg. I was inspired by anotherlunch.com in making this angry bird themed lunch. She even made a pig out of a kiwi. So very cute. There are so many ideas out there for this theme I may even need to repeat it in the future.:)

Pb&j sandwich stack pillars, babybel cheese made into the red bird, green grapes "pigs", boiled egg "white bird"(I have no idea what these little birdies are called.lol), more green grapes under the white bird, and a package of angry bird cookies. And ice cold water. I froze it.:)

I hope my little man enjoys his lunch because I've got to say...this was a little challenging trying to get the features to stay on the food. I packed it in really tight so I really don't think they should fall off before lunch. Lets pray they don't anyway.

Have a great day!!!
