Halloween Sensory Bin and ISpy Bottle

OK I know, I am SO far behind on this blogging stuff. We have been super busy this month and we have done TONS of October/ Halloween activities. I will try and start posting as we go but first I need to play catch up. SO here is one of our fun things we have been playing with daily..our Halloween sensory bin. The boys love it! Isaiah and I also made an ISpy bottle for little Isaac. He loves looking at all the things inside and of course the great noise it makes. :)

Preschool~Farm and Apples Week

We had such a fun time doing this unit. I knew Isaiah and Isaac would love this week because they both are so interested in farm things. Isaac "moo-ed" all week and Isaiah asked a million questions about different things farmers do. It was so nice to have them wanting to be so involved. We went on a mini field trip to the Farmers Market where we discussed all the produce and learned how farmers make money on their crops they grow. The market was full of adventure. I never knew the boys would have such a great time there. Here are a few of our activities we did throughout the week! Enjoy!

We have been doing ALOT of these following directions pages. I only read each direction once so he has to really pay attention and listen the first time around. He is doing great with them!




I pulled out our little people farm and the boys acted like this was brand new all over again.

Our farm tent got a lot of play this week!!! They even gathered all the farm stuffed animals they had and would read books to them in the tent.

Some other books we read and games we played this week. The tractor game was given to Isaiah from his Aunt Krissy last year..it is SO cute!



Mommys Crafts - A Birthday Wreath

BALLOON BIRTHDAY WREATH

So again I have been surfing blogs..(my fav thing to do) and I came across this Birthday Wreath. It looked super easy to make and I thought it would be perfect to hang on our "birthday weeks" every year. Yes I said birthday week...at our house we like to celebrate for the whole week when its one of our birthdays.lol    So I headed out to Michaels where I found this straw wreath. By the time I used my 40% off coupon it only cost 2.00.

                     

After Michaels I headed to Walmart to buy the balloons and floral pins. The floral pins are really cheap..something like 1.00 for 100 pins. I bought two packs of those and two packs of the big bags of balloons. So total I spent close to 13.00. .

I then got to work after we put the boys to bed. This project was a little time consuming but once I started I got distracted while watching my shows and before I knew it I was halfway done! :)

       

I was very happy with my final project. Easy, cute and inexpensive! Love it. It will be a perfect addition to our birthday fun!

Wordless Wednesday~ My Loves!

Preschool~ Letter F

We just got through studying all about the letter F. Isaiah did a great job learning the sound and MANY things that begin with letter F. Within our weekly routine we have recently added in bible devotionals. I try and find ones that go along with our theme or our study for that week. This week we did a lesson  called FROG: Fully Rely On God. The verse came from Psalms 59:9-10.

Fishing puzzle

Feed the Frog game~ I made this and I cannot remember where I got the printable from. Isaiah would roll a dice and then feed the frog the amount of bugs the dice landed on.

Stuffed football...we made this out of a recycled brown paper bag and used strips of the scrap left over to fill the inside. Then we drew "laces" on the outside.

Feel It, Name It game. I found objects around the house and Isaiah had so much fun guessing (with just feeling) what the items were.

We played this game a thousand times...we would take turns finding objects to test each other.

We had this froggy bag out all throughout the week. The boys had so much fun taking turns wearing it. This particular day Isaac did not want to take it off!

(All in all we had a really fun week. After putting all the pictures together it really doesn't seem like we had a lot of work. I normally don't take pictures of all the worksheets and workbooks we do. Isaiah also has a "night work" folder he does every night that contains two worksheets he is to complete on his own. I wanted to start the night work folder to teach him accountability for his own work! So far he really LOVES doing this!)

My smallest TOT...Starting TOTSCHOOL~18 months old

     So little Isaac has shown a tremendous interest in our learning lately. Every day during Isaiah's learning time, Isaac tries to sit in and work along with us. So I decided that I will start adding him into our daily routine and just give him simple Totschool activities to have fun with and learn at the same time. I cannot believe he is already taking interest. :( Its so bittersweet because although I am beyond thrilled he wants to learn I am so sad he's growing SO fast. But here we go off on our journey of one in Totschool and one in PreK! I absolutely LOVE my job.
Here are a few things we have done in the past and a few I have thrown out lately for my sweet Tot!

Simple coloring. I added in triangle crayons which really worked great for little hands learning to hold them the correct way!

Reading. A daily occurance at our home. I love when I see him reading all by himself! Such a sweet moment!

 

Blocks, spin top, and a jack in the box. All great hand eye- coordination!



Snapping bead blocks together- just look at that concentration ;)



Adding stickers to paper...he had a great time with this after he figured out how to get them off his fingers.

 
 

Flash Card Frenzy!

Ok so if you are anything like me, when it comes to our school stuff I try to stay as neat as possible. However, when you have fifty sets of flash cards it can easily turn from a neat stack to a mixed together, make me wanna scream, unorganized MESS! 

                                       

So one day it came to me to use book rings to help keep my sanity. UGHHHH why didn't this come to mind about six months prior to my hours of sitting and sorting flash cards into the correct pile??

 Ok so I am over my spill and on the brighter side...all of our flash cards are neatly organized into their correct stack and are super easy to flip through. (Yes I know such a simple thing to worry about but hey in case you are a crazy organizational guru like me then here you go.);)

 Aren't they pretty??...yea I know, I dont get out much. I've heard this is what a stay at home mom becomes. That's ok I'm perfectly happy with my insanity!:) (And yes I have many many more stacks of these)

*Everyday Life Skills*

Throughout the week I try and plan activities or just simple chores for Isaiah to do where it requires him to learn about everyday life skills. This week we decided we would surprise daddy with his favorite cake or dinner. So I layed out all the ingredients and we got to work.

This has to be Isaiah's favorite thing of all....cracking eggs. I must say he's pretty good too!:)



All the kiddos in on the mixing...they were all praying for a beater. Such temptations!!!




And very proud of their work. Didn't have enough time to take all the pics I wanted. Little hands sure do work fast!

Baking a cake is such a great life skill to practice with little ones. They practiced pouring, cracking eggs, measuring, mixing with a spoon and electric mixer, and also the most important of all...PATIENCE!;)

Keeping Busy...


Along with our school stuff we do each week Isaiah has been staying busy with fun things in between school time. We used to call these TOT trays but now we have graduated up to Workboxes. Every week, inside his workboxes, I will put different things out to feed his imagination. This week he played ALOT with bristle blocks...

He had a lot of fun playing with Tinker Toys also...hes REALLY into building these days.

Nana had come to visit one day and she and Isaiah practiced his memory game...They also played "What's missing?" She would place about seven cards out and have Isaiah name each one and then have him close his eyes...when he would open them he would have to tell what card was missing. He was amazing to me at how quick he could remember them.
